WOW! What a beautiful CD! the playing is definitely the best I've heard from the group, and the recording quality is as usual top notch......... based on how good your other CD's are....... this is saying a lot. What I find most impressive is how "right on" the rhythmic interpretation of the arrangements the group has. I find, in general, classical groups don't "dig in" enough, at least for my taste, but you guys really nail it. It makes for an exciting contrast with the lyrical sections, and the whole CD is toe tapping as a result. The choice of tempos is excellent and that has a lot to do with how well the rhythm feels. The CD sounds like everyone is having a ball playing the music.... what more could you ask for? Congratulations to you all, and I'm sure "Red" will be a huge success!" -- Mike Cowie. |
