Come and listen to the classics at Bishop's Landing
Halifax, NS - On Saturday August 19, 2006, The Piazza at
Bishop's Landing will be hosting Rhapsody Quintet. This free outdoor
concert, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. is the fifth concert of our summer
concert series.
Rhapsody Quintet will be performing from their light classical and
musical theatre repertoire. Rhapsody is sure to engage classical music
lovers with their selections from the world's theatres, opera and
Neapolitan songs. Rhapsody Quintet has been performing together since
the mid-80's, from salon music to chamber music, they breathe new life
into classical music with their unique arrangements and adaptations from
orchestral and piano music.
Members of Rhapsody include Anne Rapson, violin;
John Rapson, clarinet, Shimon Walt,
cello; Diana Torbert, Piano and
David Langstroth, Bass. All members perform full or part-time with
Symphony Nova Scotia.
Everyone is invited to this free concert. The concert will be located in
The Piazza, the interior retail area of Bishop's Landing, located at
1477 Lower Water Street across from the Brewery Market in Halifax.
Accessible by the boardwalk along the waterfront, or by Lower Water
Street, the stage will be located near the fountain, just steps from the
harbour. Boats are also invited to come and enjoy the concert from the
WDCL Public Marina at Bishop's Landing. Mooring facilities are available
free of charge for day visits, on a first come, first serve basis. In
the event of rain, please call the Information Line for an alternate
concert location at 423-8508.
